It was a real pleasure to give my keynote talk at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Orthopaedics Conference 17th September. My talk was entitled ‘A data driven approach to pre-habilitation and rehabilitation for hip and knee patients’. As I went through my talk I realised that our first papers were published 10 years ago on poor recovery after hip and knee replacement. And over the last 5 years we’ve been doing studies that show our data driven approach using GaitSmart does improve patients’ outcomes.
It was really encouraging to get such interest from orthopaedic consultants and physiotherapists from around the world, who recognise that objective data will help guide patient treatment and monitor progress.
